Finn Wandahl, born in Copenhagen in 1954; got a Masters Degree from the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in 1978. He has been studying, practicing and pioneering Vedic astrology in the Scandinavian countries for nearly 25 years. Is the author of two books on Vedic astrology. Was awarded a Certificate of Honor in 1999 by Institute of Astrology, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, University of New Delhi.
My interest in Vedic astrology started in 1979, when I first met the late veteran astrologer Manik Chand Jain, who was touring in Europe at that time. He gave a lecture on Hindu astrology, where he took up a few horoscopes from the audience and gave some very convincing demonstrations of his predictive abilities by correctly pointing out some facts and events from the past in each case. By seeing this, I became very interested in Vedic astrology.
Later on, I asked Manik Chand Jain to cast my horoscope, and after calculating and taking a short look at the chart, he correctly predicted: "Mr. Wandahl, according to your horoscope, you are the firstborn son of a father who is a government official and you have only one younger brother". He then continued: "Though educated in classical music, you are destined to become an astrologer yourself".
Manik Chand Jain became my first teacher. I met with him personally on two occations and we also had a long and exhaustive correspondence. He provided me with copies of ancient textbooks like "Brihat Jataka", "Phaladeepika" and "Jataka Parijata", and the slokas from these books became the subject of a long chain of questions and answers, from which, little by little, I got an understanding of the basic concepts. Manik always told me to understand the slokas first and then to test them on practical horoscopes of friends and relatives, in order to find out exactly how far I could make them work in real life.

Manik Chand Jain was the editor of a monthly magazine called "Fate and Destiny". Besides this he was the author of a number of books about Hindu astrology:

Manik died in 1984, and since then I have been in contact with a number of Hindu
astrologers both personally and through correspondence. Each of them has had
their own impact on my development as an astrologer. Most important was perhaps
my meeting with the late Dr. B. V. Raman in Bangalore in 1990.
